District 192 School Board
Developing citizens of integrity
who excel in and beyond the classroom

The Board of Education is the governing body of Independent School District 192 and is responsible for setting policies that ensure the successful execution of the District's mission.

The six-member Board is also responsible for hiring a superintendent to administer the District's educational program and carryout Board policies, and for setting an annual budget that ensures proper and effective use of public funds.

Meetings

School Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m. Regular business agenda items include sharing of good news, personnel actions, administrative actions, reports and communications, and policy readings.

Board meetings are open to the public unless otherwise noted. There is a "Public Comment" section of each regular meeting during which residents may speak to any issue. Residents are also welcome to comment on items on the meeting's agenda.

Elections
Board members are elected to four-year terms, with elections for three board seats held in November of even-numbered years and terms beginning Jan. 1 following the election. All Board positions are at-large, meaning all Board members represent the entire District. To run for a seat on the Board of Education, candidates must file an affidavit of candidacy with the District office during the official filing period.

For more information on Board elections, call the District office at (651) 463-5000.
