Policy
proposals and suggested revisions of existing policies are submitted
to all members of the School Board and to the Superintendent in
writing prior to a regularly scheduled School Board meeting. Proposed
policies or amendments are presented at the School Board meeting
as the first reading.
The
second reading is a discussion for proposed policies or amendments.
It generally takes place at the next regularly scheduled board
meeting.
The
third reading and a vote for adoption or approval of amendments
generally takes place at the next regularly scheduled board meeting,
unless the School Board suspends its policy and extends the time
for input. If time is extended the School Board must set a specific
date at which it will take action.
