Solveig Brown

Dr. Solveig Brown is an anthropologist and author of All On One Plate: Cultural Expectations on American Mothers, which was a finalist for the Indies Book of the Year award.  Her research is based on interviews and surveys with 140 middle-class mothers who candidly talk about their parenting, relationship, and work experiences.  She shows how cultural change and deep-rooted cultural beliefs, which people often take for granted, shape our expectations for mothers.  Solveig has given keynotes and workshops to diverse groups, including: Fortune 500 Companies; Women in Leadership conferences; academic conferences; and community groups.

Farmington School District #192 and Lakeville School District #194 Community Education and Early Childhood Family Education programs have partnered together to provide these important and beneficial seminars to area residents.
