Congratulations to Chloe Bella Johnson, daughter of Katie and Marc Johnson, on winning first place at the Southern Minnesota Regional Science and Engineering Fair! Bella is a fifth grade student at Akin Road Elementary School. She advanced to the regional fair after winning her school event earlier in the year. Her project was entitled What happens to cookies when you remove one ingredient? and included four different variables: flour, butter, sugar and eggs. Judges recognized her work as the only first place winner out of 296 fifth graders from 59 towns and 90 different schools. The Southern Minnesota Regional Science and Engineering Fair took place at Minnesota State University Mankato on Saturday, April 29th.
