Last Saturday, the Farmington High School Choir students and teachers put on an incredible show full of talent and laughs in their 5th annual Cabaret. The show’s performances ranged from solos to large group performances that gave audience members chills.

Cabaret, performed at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., was comprised of choir students who auditioned with songs they had selected and prepared as well as groups within the FHS Choir community. Vocé, an all girls singing group, and Vox, an all boys singing group, both performed songs. The finale was performed by New Dimension, an extra curricular Choir made up of Juniors and Seniors.

Upon opening with “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, sang by the ensemble, Cabaret’s setlist was full of songs from a variety of musicals. From Disney’s Aladdin to West Side Story to Waitress, every performance was grand and inviting.

Songs such as “When He Sees Me,” sang by Maia Honl, and “Easy As Life,” sang by Ileri Okikiolu, were both passionate and stunning. Cheerful songs, such as “I Won’t Say (I’m In Love),” performed by Caroline Cummings and her muses, “Gee, Officer Krupke,” performed by Vox, and “I Think I Got You Beat,” performed by Hunter Conrad and Pablo Stilwell, brought smiles to the crowd’s faces. Both choir teachers were featured as well. Ms. Megan Dimich sang “Times Are Hard For Dreamers” and Mr. Brian Ohnsorg sang “Singing in the Rain,” accompanied by Colin Kristensen tap dancing.

Every student put their heart into their performances, an aspect that made the show that much more enjoyable. Every smile, step, and sustaining note was amplified by the hard work that went into preparing the show. Wonderful job FHS Choir Students!
