State Tests

State Standardized Testing

In Minnesota, the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) are the primary test administered by the state of Minnesota used to measure students' progress toward academic standards. The MCA tests are given in reading to students in grades 3-8 and 10; in math to students in grades 3-8 and 11; and in science to students in grades 5, 8 and 10. The state also administers the Graduation-Required Assessment for Diploma (GRAD) in writing to 9th grade students, in reading to 10th graders, and in math to 11th graders.
