Students, along with their families, who will enter grades 5-8 next year are invited to attend a Gateway Academy Information Night on Tuesday, January 17 at 6 p.m. See additional details below.
What is Gateway Academy?
Gateway Academy is a 5-8, continuous progress, project-based learning community. Rooted in community action and problem-solving, students engage in authentic collaboration and creative experiences in which they solve real problems. Gateway students are active agents of their own learning. They are passionate about the projects they undertake, using flexible learning spaces and innovative technology to enhance their learning experiences.
What does this type of learning look like?
Students design and carry out learning plans unique to their interests.
Students synthesize skills and knowledge from multiple disciplines with real-world application.
Passion and Spark
Students tap into their talents, passions, and creativity.
Students receive a range of support and mentorship from peers, community members, teachers and parents.
Student growth is measured through multiple factors including portfolios, reflection, narrative feedback, and more.
Students collaborate not only with other students but with a wide local and global network of businesses, government, and community organizations.
As a Public Choice School, any students living within ISD 192 may attend Gateway Academy as an in-district transfer student. Students living outside ISD 192 may apply through the Open Enrollment Process.
