Posted on 02/07/2019
Brad MariskaBradley Mariska, the Associate Director of Bands at Farmington High School since 2016, has been named the Band Vice-President for the Minnesota Music Educators Association!

The MMEA Band Vice-President is an elected, two-year volunteer position. The role is to advise the board regarding band, contribute professional articles to Interval, and to produce and direct the All-State band camp and ensemble performances.

Erin Holmes, FHS Band Director and the current MMEA Jazz Education Chair, said in a Facebook post about Mariska:

"This is such a huge honor and I am so proud to call him not only a colleague but (even more importantly) a friend. We have worked so hard over the past three years to make Farmington Band something that is bigger and better than it’s ever been and we challenge each other every day to grow as musicians, educators, and mentors. I can’t wait to have Brad join the State Board so we can continue to offer opportunities to band directors and band students from ALL OVER MINNESOTA for new and innovative programs..."

Congratulations, Mr. Mariska!
