Farmington Community Education is excited to announce the launch of new summer experiences and enrichment camps for middle school youth offered June, July and August.

“IGNITE” camps are designed specifically for youth entering grades 6-9. Full or half day options are available.  Camps take place in the mornings and/or afternoons at various locations in Farmington or offsite if a tour or trip is involved. Fees vary according to each camp. Onsite experiences will include sports, recreation, arts, and enrichment camps and offsite experiences will include local field trips and a 2 night overnight camping trip. Registration allows parents and campers the choice of weeks and camps that fit their schedule and interests.

IGNITE camps will include: Camping, Robotics, Animal Care, Volleyball, Cooking, Biking, Swimming, Sewing, Painting, Drama, Basketball, History, Aussie Football, STEM, Tennis, Robotics, Water Games, Mountain Biking, and Hip Hop Dance.

“This is the first time Farmington Community Education has packaged camp experiences for middle school youth and we are pleased to offer something like this, right here in Farmington”, said Amanda Shadoin, Youth Programs Coordinator. Some camps are held at Farmington Elementary, Levi Dodge Middle School, and some venture out of Farmington to area parks, historic mansions, or into the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes bike trails. The camping trip will take IGNITE participants to the Wisconsin Interstate State park for 2 nights in July.
