Early Childhood Screening Video

In Minnesota, all children must be screened before entering Kindergarten in a public school. All children have the right to receive a FREE Early Childhood Screening with age 3 being the recommended age, but children can be also screened at age 4, and 5. Early Childhood Screening is a Free snapshot of how your child is growing, developing, and learning.
Early Childhood Screening can connect families with resources in the community.

Interpreter services are provided at no cost to families if needed. Call the office for assistance.

A complete early childhood screening will include:

*A hearing and vision check
*Height and weight check
*Speech, and development screening
*Health and immunization screening.

Early Childhood Screening is:
* Not an IQ test
* Not a label
* Not a diagnosis
* Not a placement test
* Not a Kindergarten test

*Executive Order 20-82. Parents may conscientiously object by submitting a statement in writing and notarized. Parents may also submit a copy of a screening completed by Head Start or Child and Teen Checkups, or any other school district.
