Summer iPad Support & Service

Farmington Area Public Schools is committed to ensuring every learner’s device is ready for the upcoming school year. If your learner's iPad requires technical support or physical repair during the summer break, please follow the steps below.

1. Review Your Coverage

Before requesting service, understand your chosen level of iPad Protection Plan.

  • ✅ ENROLLED iPad Protection Plan: Most repairs are covered with a $0 co-pay for the first incident.

  • ⛔️ WAIVED iPad Protection Plan: Families are responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement.

2. Prepare Your Device

For the quickest turnaround, complete the following before your visit:

  • Back Up Data: Ensure all schoolwork is synced to Google Drive or iCloud.

  • Remove Personal Items: Remove any personal stickers, cases, or accessories not issued by the district.

  • Charge the Device: If the device powers on, make certain it has at least a 20% charge.

3. Service Locations & Hours

Summer support is centralized at the Community Education Office at Meadowview Elementary.

  • Location: 6100 195th St W, Farmington, MN 55024 (Entrance Door 22)

  • Hours: Monday – Thursday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Closed Fridays and holidays)

4. Before Dropping-off iPad

  • Complete our Online Form to report damage.
  • A hard copy of the form is required, too. It accompanies your iPad for easy ID and action. The paper form is provided at the Community Education Office. If you would like to prepare your paper iPad Repair and Service Form from home, print, complete, and bring the linked form with your device at drop-off.

4. Turn Around Time

Different issues require different timeframes for repair. These are our typical turnaround times. 

  • Software: Usually same-day or next day.
  • Hardware: Damage is kept for repair/replacement. A loaner iPad may be provided as determined by availability.

5. Notification, Payment, and Pickup

  • Notification: Once the repair is complete, an email will be sent to the parent/guardian.

  • Pickup: Repaired devices must be picked up within one week of notification.

  • Payment: Any applicable co-pays (for those who WAIVE the iPad Protection Plan) must be settled at the time of pickup.
