Personalized Learning
The focus of the personalized learning approach within Farmington Area Public Schools is to provide the technology tools and resources for the innovative use and design of learning experiences across the district. This agreement shares helpful information and provides terms to better ensure the successful use of district technology hardware and resources.
1.1 Engagement & Interactivity
Customized and personalized learning enhances learner engagement and allows for various ways to learn with the content. Research shows that integrating technology into instruction and learning not only develops content knowledge, critical thinking and technology skills, but also prepares learners for the workplace.
1.2 Learning Anytime, Anywhere
Learning with digital tools enables online access to content, resources, peer collaboration, projects, and discussions, expanding learning beyond the traditional classroom. Online resources, blended learning, and personalization are available to meet diverse learner needs. Wireless networks facilitate flexible learning opportunities, giving learners control and more options over when and where they learn.
1.3 Collaboration, Communication, and Shared Learning
Digital communication tools have become an integral part of our lives. In the educational realm, they offer innovative ways to process and engage in learning and work. Tools like cloud-based documents, email, and learning management systems enable learners to collaborate with peers, their classrooms, and the global community electronically. These classroom tools extend learning beyond the confines of school and class time, fostering discussions outside traditional settings. Digital interactions provide learners with opportunities to ask questions, solve problems, think critically, and deepen their understanding of subject matter through interactions with peers and educators. Effective teaching and learning with iPad seamlessly integrate technology into the curriculum, unlocking valuable learning opportunities that were previously inaccessible.
iPad Care
Learners are responsible for the general care of their issued iPad. A device that is broken or fails to work properly must be taken to the building tech for evaluation as soon as practical.
2.1 General Precautions and Care
- iPad is school property and all users will follow the Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003) for technology within Farmington Area Public Schools.
- iPad and its accessories must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, labels, paint, nail polish, etc. or any other physical changes that are not the property of or applied by Farmington Area Public Schools.
- Avoid leaving iPad in an unlocked locker, unlocked car, or any unsupervised area.
- Avoid leaving iPad in a location susceptible to extreme cold or hot weather.
- When not in use, iPad should be in a safe and secure location away from foot-traffic, potential falls, or other damage.
- Learners are responsible for monitoring and keeping their iPad charged for school use.
- Cords and cables must be inserted carefully into the iPad to prevent damage. Hold the reinforced ends of the cable while inserting and removing from the iPad or power adapter charging “brick.” Refrain from using the iPad while charging to avoid placing stress on the cable. If the iPad must be used while charging, use so that the charging cable is at the top of the iPad to avoid bending the cable.
2.2 Screen Care
- The screens are particularly sensitive to damage from
excessive pressure. - Avoid leaning on the iPad.
- Avoid placing anything near the iPad that could put pressure on the screen or scratch the glass (keep this in mind when placing iPad in a backpack). Please close the protective cover on the case when not in use.
- Only use a clean, soft cloth to clean the screen. Occasionally 70% isopropyl or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes may be used. Bleach, or window cleaner of any type will damage the antireflective and fingerprint-resistant coating.
2.3 Transporting iPad
- The protective cases provided with iPad has been rated to exceed the U.S. Department of Defense Standard 810F/G durability tests and are designed to adequately protect the iPad from normal treatment and provide a suitable means for carrying the device within the school.
- iPad must remain within the district-provided protective case.
- Carry iPad with intent and awareness.
iPad at School and Home
iPad is intended to be available for use at school each day. In addition to teacher expectations for iPad use, school messages, announcements, calendars, and schedules may be accessed using the iPad. Learners are responsible for bringing their iPad to all classes, unless specifically instructed not to do so by their teacher.
3.1 iPad Left at Home
If a learner leaves their iPad at home, they are responsible for getting the coursework completed as if they had their iPad present.
3.2 iPad Undergoing Repair
When an iPad is damaged and returned to the school for repair, a replacement iPad will be issued in its place following the payment for any damage repair or replacement fees. An iPad that is functional but may have cosmetic damage such as bends, dents, dead pixels, and scratches may not be immediately repaired. The District reserves the right to determine if damage is cosmetic and/or if the iPad requires repair.
3.3 Charging Battery
iPad must only be charged by plugging it into an electrical wall outlet or surge protector power strip. The iPad should be safe and secure while charging. Avoid locations that may create trip hazards. Avoid charging an iPad from a computer port.
3.4 Screen Savers/Background Photos
Inappropriate media may not be used as a screensaver, background photo or placed under the clear protective back of the case. Presence of guns, weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, alcohol, drug, gang-related symbols, or pictures will result in disciplinary actions.
3.5 Sound, Music, Games, or Programs
Sound must be muted unless permission is obtained from the teacher for instructional purposes. iPad should be used consistently and with educational intent.
3.6 Home Internet Access
Learners may connect to other wireless networks on their iPad. This will help them with iPad use while at home. However, the Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003) must be followed while connecting to a home or off campus network with a district owned device.
Parents/Guardians will monitor learner use of the internet at home and will take reasonable measures to prevent access to inappropriate material on the internet.
Managing Files & Saving Work
Learners are responsible and encouraged to manage their digital files, workflow, and assignments on iPad. We provide necessary resources and support to allow them to learn, develop, and thrive as organized creators and consumers of information.
4.1 Saving and Submitting Work
Most iPad productivity apps support the ability to open and edit email, word processing, documents, presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, or other common file types. Learners and teachers can exchange course-related files through their district-provided email and the learning management systems.
Learners may have the option to utilize a number of free cloud-based options such as Google Drive, iCloud, Microsoft OneDrive, etc. The District permits the use of such services but cannot be held responsible for the support of these personal, non-district-provided services or the data that learners may store on these services.
4.2 Network Connectivity
Farmington Area Public Schools makes no guarantee that their network will always be up and running. In the off-chance that the network is down, the District will not be responsible for lost or missing data.
Settings and Operations
Every district-provided iPad is provisioned by the District’s Technology Department for the purposes of initializing and secure management.
5.1 Circumvention of Managed Settings
Any attempts by learners to circumvent any district management settings through software restoration, iPadOS setting manipulation, remote proxy settings or jailbreaking will result in the confiscation of the iPad and/or disciplinary action.
5.2 Inspection
Learners may be selected at any time to provide their iPad for inspection.
5.3 Procedure for Re-Loading Software
If technical difficulties occur, the iPad will be restored to factory settings. This approach minimizes the “down time” for use of the device during the instructional day. The school does not accept responsibility for the loss of any software or documents deleted due to a re-format and re-image. Important files and data should always be backed up to their district Google Drive account. Learners should be able to recover files they have saved to cloud storage services. District issued apps are available through the District’s “Self Service” app. In addition, depending upon the nature of the issues, potential consequences for issues caused intentionally to their own or another’s issued iPad may result in confiscation of the device with usage allowed only during school.
Responsible Use
The use of Farmington Area Public Schools technology resources is a privilege, not a right. The District provides these resources, but they are not transferable or extendable to individuals or groups outside the district. Additionally, these resources end when a learner is no longer enrolled in Farmington Area Public Schools.
To ensure responsible and ethical use of technology resources, this iPad Loan Agreement and Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003) are provided to all users. These documents outline the responsibilities associated with using technology resources effectively and lawfully. Violating any of the user Terms and Conditions or the Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003) can result in the termination of privileges, denial of access to school district technology resources, and appropriate disciplinary action per the Student Discipline Policy (MSBA Policy 506). In severe cases law enforcement agencies may be involved with disciplinary action resulting in learner suspension or expulsion.
6.1 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
Please discuss your family values and the appropriate standards for using technology and the internet with your learners, just as you do with other media sources. We provide a Parent Guide and the Responsible Use Policy to aid your conversation.
6.2 School Responsibilities

Learners who graduate early, withdraw, are suspended or expelled, or terminate enrollment for any other reason must return their individual school iPad and accessories by the date of withdrawal.
- Use all technology resources in an appropriate manner to avoid equipment damage. This damage includes, but is not limited to, the loss of data resulting from delays, non-deliveries, mis-delivery or service interruptions caused by the learner’s own negligence, errors, or omissions. Use of any information obtained via Farmington Area Public Schools’ designated internet system is at your own risk. Farmington Area Public Schools specifically denies any responsibilities for the accuracy or quality of information obtained through its services.
6.4 Activities Strictly Prohibited:
- Illegal installation or transmission of copyrighted materials.
- Any action that violates existing Board policy or public law.
- Sending, accessing, uploading, downloading, or distributing offensive, profane, threatening, pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit materials.
- Inappropriate usage of group or individual messaging.

- Exchanging an iPad and/or switching iPad identification labels to conceal fault of damage.
- Use of the school’s internet, email or accounts for financial or commercial gain or for any illegal activity.
- Use of anonymous and/or false communications through messenger apps or other anonymous messaging service or app.
- Gaining access to others’ accounts, files, and/or data.
- Avoid giving out personal information over the internet for non-educational purpose. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up internet accounts including those necessary for chat rooms, online shopping, etc.
- Participation in credit card fraud, electronic forgery, or other forms of illegal behavior.
- Vandalism (any malicious attempt to harm or destroy hardware, software, or data, including, but not limited to, the uploading or creation of computer viruses or computer programs that can infiltrate computer systems and/or damage software components) of school equipment.
- Transmission or accessing materials that are obscene, offensive, threatening or otherwise intended to harass or demean recipients.
6.5 Legal Propriety
- Comply with trademark and copyright laws and all license agreements. Ignorance of the law is not immunity. If you are unsure, ask a teacher or parent.
- Plagiarism is a violation of Farmington Area Public School’s Code of Student Conduct. Credit or cite all sources used, whether quotes or summarized. This includes all forms of media on the internet, such as graphics, movies, music, and text.
- Use or possession of hacking software is strictly prohibited, and violators will be subject to Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003) and Code of Student Conduct. Violation of applicable state or federal law will result in criminal prosecution or disciplinary action by the District.

- A damaged or malfunctioning iPad must be reported to the designated location within your child’s school.
- A stolen iPad must be reported immediately to the Principal’s Office and the Police Department.
Protecting and Storing iPad
7.1 iPad Identification
A district iPad can be identified in the following ways:
- Record of device serial number.
- Enrollment of iPad in the Mobile Device Management system.
7.2 Storing IPad
When learners are not using iPad, it should be stored in their locked lockers or remain in their possession. Nothing should be placed on top of the iPad. iPad should not be stored in a vehicle at school or at home to prevent risk of extreme temperature exposure or potential theft. If a learner needs a secure place to store their iPad, they may check it in for storage with the main office in their school.
7.3 Unsupervised Areas
Under no circumstances should iPad be left in unsupervised areas. Unsupervised areas include the school grounds and campus, the lunchroom, computer lab, locker rooms, media center, unlocked classrooms, gymnasiums, auditorium, and hallways. Any iPad left in these areas is at risk of being stolen or damaged. If an iPad is found in an unsupervised area, it will be taken to the main office.
7.4 Personal Devices (computer/tablet)
A learner may bring their own device to school if they choose not to use a district-provided iPad as long as the device is compatible with the systems and network. In order to receive district-provided iPad OS apps, the learner must enroll their personal iPad in the district’s Mobile Device Management System. A learner who brings their own device is fully responsible for its care and maintenance.
Learner Accounts
Farmington Area Public Schools uses the learning management and productivity platforms of Seesaw, Schoology, and Google Workspace for Education to provide educational resources and services to learners.
8.1 Seesaw (K-3) Learn about Seesaw.
The Seesaw app requires your child’s name to associate their work (photos, videos, voice recordings) with their account. Seesaw only uses this information for service provision and does not advertise to or share/sell personal information or journal content.
Seesaw privacy: https://web.seesaw.me/privacy.
8.2 Schoology (4-12) Learn about Schoology.
In connection with their use of the Schoology platform, learners may be asked to provide information such as a name and district email address to Schoology and allow for analysis of group usage data.
Schoology privacy: https://schoology-app.com/privacy.
8.3 Google Workspace for Education
The District provides managed access to Google Workspace for Education accounts for cloud-based storage, district issued emails for educational work, and a collaborative online workspace including use of Core Services (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Drive, and more).
Find additional information regarding Google for Education’s privacy and security information at: https://www.google.com/edu/trust/
Returning iPad
A district iPad and its accessories must be returned to your child's school upon graduation, withdrawal, suspension, expulsion, or termination of enrollment from Farmington Area Public Schools. This includes the iPad, district-provided case, and Apple charging cable and brick, all in working condition - without damage.
Failure to return the iPad and accessories by the end of the school year, or when learner is no longer enrolled, may result in criminal prosecution or civil liability for the learner or parent/guardian. The learner or parent/guardian will also be responsible for the replacement cost of the iPad and accessories. iPad's serial numbers are registered with Apple's Device Enrollment Program servers and require a valid ISD192 username and password for activation. District-issued iPad are only activated by an enrolled learner account.
Learners or parents/guardians are responsible for any damage to the iPad, consistent with the district's iPad Protection Plan, and must return the iPad and accessories in satisfactory condition to the designated school location at the end of the school year, unless checked out and opting to keep the iPad for summer use.
Parent/Guardian Guide
Keeping your child safe online is extremely important and it is a shared responsibility. Intentional and frequent discussions with your child, regardless of their age, are critical so you can be proactive in protecting and educating them about digital safety. Experts warn that children are especially vulnerable to online dangers when they are at home. Below are some suggestions to further educate your child about the appropriate use of technology and internet use at home or off-campus.
According to the Farmington Area Schools Responsible Use Policy (ISD192 Policy 1003), parents/guardians are responsible for overseeing their child's use of technology and the internet outside of school. This includes monitoring their child's use of District-provided educational technology, such as email and cloud accounts, as well as internet usage at home or other locations.
Sending iPad Home
When the iPad is sent home from school, it will be used solely for educational purposes that align with learning goals. For learners in Grades K-5, parents will be informed in advance about when the iPad will be sent home, along with the specific educational purpose for which the device is required.
Parents are encouraged to review this information and determine how much time their child will have access to the iPad while at home. Families have the right to manage and monitor their child’s use of the device to best support their educational needs and household routines.
If a parent prefers that their child does not bring the iPad home, they can contact the school to discuss alternative options that can support their child’s learning.
Intentional Use for Active Learning
Active use involves engaging in tasks that demand critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. Examples of active use include creating digital presentations, conducting research projects, coding, or interactive educational apps that foster skill development.
In contrast, passive use typically involves watching videos or browsing content without a deliberate purpose or connection to a learning objective.
Parents are encouraged to support this approach at home by guiding their children to use the iPad in ways that promote active engagement and learning. This can be achieved by exploring educational apps together, encouraging creative projects, or setting specific goals for how the device will be used for homework or enrichment activities.
Filtered Access
At school, we use Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) compliant internet filtering by Lightspeed. District devices have set management restrictions and those same restrictions are designed to transfer to use at home. To protect your child online, experts recommend installing software on your home wireless network that can filter and block inappropriate content and for parents to be an active support when the device is being used.
Vigilance is required by all.
Set Expectations
Regularly communicate your expectations with your child regarding accessing only appropriate websites and content, as well as making good choices online even when even when a parent/guardian is not watching. It is important to maintain regular open dialogues about internet use and behavior while discussing your expectations for responsible and appropriate online activities.
Information for parents on setting additional restrictions (Parental Controls) on iPadOS devices is available from Apple. You may also wish to review and use the Family Tech Planners from Common Sense Media.
Charge Overnight
Parenting experts recommend keeping all technology, like cell phones and iPads, in a common family room overnight to discourage late-night, unsupervised use that can disrupt sleep.
It is important not to allow your child to sleep with the iPad. Please remember to also model appropriate use and balance of technology in your own life as a positive example for your child.
Monitor Screen Time
Experts recommend having children use the internet in a central place at home, like the kitchen or family room, where adult supervision is available, instead of behind closed doors or unsupervised. It's important to know what your child is doing with technology and how they are spending their time online. While technology can be a useful tool, it can also be a distraction. Encourage your child to focus on completing tasks or assignments before engaging in other online activities. Teaching children how to manage information sources and potential distractions is a crucial life skill that is best learned early, before they enter college or the workforce.
Final Thoughts
Anything you do or post online creates a digital record, often referred to as a “Digital Footprint.” Even if you intend to keep something private, it’s not entirely private once it’s digitized. It can be saved, shared, and reposted elsewhere.
A good rule of thumb is to avoid posting anything online that you wouldn’t want a parent, teacher, principal, future employer, or college admissions office to know. You can also set up a test question for your child to ask themselves frequently, such as “Would [grandparent/family member] approve?”
Cyberbullying, which involves threatening or harassing someone through technology, is a growing concern for today’s youth. It can take various forms, including forwarding private emails, photos, or text messages for others to see, starting rumors, or sending threatening or aggressive messages, often anonymously. Talk to your child about this behavior and encourage them to report all cyberbullying to an adult.
Avoid sharing personally identifiable information (PII) online, including your full name, address, phone number, email, and where you meet friends or hang out. Discuss with your child how easy it is for someone to find you based on what you post online. Remember that location data might also be included in photos.
Regularly check your child’s privacy settings on all commonly used websites and networks. Ignoring privacy settings on social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc., means your child’s photos, contact information, interests, and possibly even cell phone GPS location could be shared with over half a billion people.
“Friends” online aren’t always who they claim to be. Encourage your child to only be friends online with friends they know in person. Also, avoid allowing access to personal information to people online.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can parents control or limit what kids do on the iPad?
We want you to feel in control of technology in your home. You can use Apple’s built-in "Parental Controls" to set limits on apps or the "Guided Access" feature to lock the iPad into a single app for a set amount of time.
What exactly does the iPad Protection Plan cover?
For $40, the plan covers "oops" moments like cracked screens, spills, and accidental drops. It also protects you from power surges, theft (with a police report), and natural disasters like fire or floods. Please remember it does not cover a lost iPad, intentional damage, or accessories like cables and bricks.
Is there a discount for families with multiple children?
Yes! We have a family cap, so you only pay for the first two students in your household (a maximum of $80). Any additional children in your family will be covered at no extra cost. Pay for them all then click here to request a refund.
Is the new case as strong as the old ones?
Actually, it’s even better! Your A16 iPad case (the STM DUX OX or Logitech Rugged Combo 4) is built to meet military-grade toughness standards.
-
It features reinforced rubber corners to absorb shocks if dropped.
-
The sturdy cover protects the glass from being crushed in a backpack.
-
It even has a smart magnetic closure that saves your battery life by making sure the screen is off when the case is closed.
Why offer an optional summer iPad checkout?
The option for summer iPad checkout supports our efforts to foster open-ended, personalized learning opportunities; curiosity; exploration and continued access to creative tools and resources. It also allows students to continue to have access to technology for summer learning opportunities. We are fortunate to have this as an option for our current 6-11 grade learners and families and have been pleased to offer since 2016.
What student grade levels are eligible to take advantage of the optional summer iPad checkout?
Students that are currently in grades 6-11 and have taken iPad home during the school year are eligible to checkout their assigned iPad for the summer months. Seniors will need to check in their assigned iPad before the end of the school year. Their devices will be redistributed to next year’s kindergarteners. Elementary devices will remain stored at school for the next school year. Rising sixth graders will receive their new iPad in the Logitech Rugged Combo 4 Touch case at middle school.
Can students/families elect to turn in their assigned iPad before school is out?
Yes. iPads may be checked in this spring and checked out again to the student in the fall.
What are the requirements to participate in the optional summer iPad checkout?
Students/Families (current grades 6-11) interested in checking out their district-issued iPad for the summer, must agree to the terms in the SY2627 iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement prior by the end of May 2026.
If a student checks out their iPad for the summer, do they have to check it out again in the fall?
No. Students checking out their assigned iPad for the summer are set for the next school year. Students would simply need to bring their iPad back as a school supply and not have to go through the fall iPad check out process.
Do students/families need to complete and sign the SY2627 iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement?
Yes. In order to be issued an iPad for the summer or next fall, students/families need to complete and sign the iPad Protection Program + Loan Agreement. Finishing that allows the district to document parental/guardian consent for certain services used by the district.
Is there an updated option for the iPad Protection Plan that includes the summer months?
Yes. Completing and Signing the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement extends coverage for a full year (summer through next spring). For those opting to ENROLL in iPad Protection Plan, coverage extends over the summer months at no additional cost. For those opting to have the school store the iPad over the summer months, the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement will remain available to complete at your convenience - we recommend doing it early.
What is the fee to ENROLL in the full year iPad Protection Plan that will extend coverage over the summer?
The iPad Protection Plan option is $40 per learner which extends coverage over the summer months at no additional cost. There is a family maximum cap for coverage of "two enrollments" for families with three or more students in our schools that are issued iPads to take home. Enrollment in the iPad Protection Plan will be complimentary for families that have applied for, and been approved for, Educational Benefits program participation.
Is there still a “family maximum cap” for the iPad Protection Plan?
Yes. For families with more than two students that take iPads home there is a maximum family cap for those opting in the iPad Protection Plan. The family cap is based upon the cost of participation for two students ($80).
What will the process be for fall checkout for students not checking out their assigned iPad for the summer?
Similar to previous years, new students and returning students that have not checked out their iPad for the summer will check out their issued iPad in the fall according to the schedule determined by individual schools.
Will there be technical service and repair available over the summer?
Yes. We will have drop-off service repair for iPad over the summer. iPad in need of service may be dropped of with an administrative assistant at the Community Education Office in Meadowview Elementary (door 22) at 6100 195th St W, Farmington, MN. Available Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, excluding Fridays and holidays. A Summer iPad Repair & Service form must be completed at the time of drop off. Whenever possible, the iPad should be backed up, and crucial files saved to the learner's Google Drive. Pass codes should also be turned off and after backing up, and turn off "Find My iPad" so that our Apple Authorized Service Provider will be able to repair the device. Depending upon the nature of the issue, the target turn around for service work is two weeks.
Is there a co-payment for the cost of more than one iPad repair/replacement claim made during the same iPad Protection Plan period?
Yes. However, for those opting for the iPad Protection Plan there is no co-payment for the first instance of a repair claim made during the iPad Protection Plan period. A co-payment fee for the repair or replacement of an iPad is required for multiple instances or claims made during the same period of coverage with the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement.
As an example, for one who has iPad Protection Plan coverage that has a covered damage claim during the summer months, there is no additional repair fee. However, if there was a second instance of covered damage during the school year for the same user, this would count as the “second claim” during the coverage period, and a co-payment will be required to help offset the cost of the iPad repair or replacement. Please see the iPad Protection Plan for additional information.
Will devices needing repair over the summer be swapped out for a replacement iPad as they are during the school year?
iPad repairs typically result in the replacement of the iPad. During the summer months, an iPad requiring service will be sent in for service and, following any necessary repairs/replacement, returned to the student/family to whom the device was issued.
Will an iPad be available for summer school use for students not opting to check the iPad out over the summer?
Yes. The iPad that has been issued to a learner will be available and need to remain on site for those involved in summer academic programs that are not opting for summer iPad check out.
Will there be a fall iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement?
Yes. For students new to the district or those electing to have the school store their assigned iPads, the SY2627 iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement is always available. We encourage you to complete and sign it as soon as practical.
How do I register for the optional iPad checkout for the summer?
Families must use RevTrak by the end of May in order to agree to the SY2627 iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement and choose to ENROLL in or WAIVE coverage. iPad issued to learners will then need to be checked back out to the student in their school’s media center.

The Student ID number is listed in Infinite Campus' Campus Parent and Campus Student apps (It is NOT the same as the badge ID number). Will district-issued apps and the Self Service app still be available over the summer?
Students will still have access to the District provided core apps such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, GarageBand, as well as Notability and the Google Suite of Workplace for EDU. The district's App Lending Library is also available for checking out apps. Apps identified at the individual building level will be removed from the iPad in early July, when student info rolls to the next grade level. Parent approval for other vetted educational apps is included in the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement.
Over the summer months, what happens to course specific apps that were assigned for a particular school term?
Apps issued for particular courses during the school year will be reclaimed for reuse with students in specific courses next year. Students should make sure any projects from these specialty apps are saved to their Google Drive.

What happens if an iPad is lost or stolen over the summer?
As noted in the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement, lost iPads are not covered by the iPad Protection Plan and remain the responsibility of the family to find or reimburse the District the cost of replacement. For consistency, and as also noted in the iPad Protection Plan + Loan Agreement, stolen iPads should be reported to the Police to have a police report filed and also reported to the building principal. The iPad Protection Plan does cover the theft (with police report) of a stolen iPad but not the charging brick and cable. As a theft protection measure District iPad serial numbers have been registered with Apple’s Device Enrollment Program servers and may only be activated with a valid ISD192 username and password.
What if my child is starting in a new school building next year?
As in previous years, students not checking out an iPad for the summer and transitioning between buildings between school years will have their issued iPad available at their new school location in the fall for checkout. Students that have checked out their assigned iPad for the summer will bring it with them as a school supply to their new building location.
If I turn my iPad in this Spring, should I bring my District-issued charging brick and cord?
Returning students opting to check in iPads for storage over the summer do not have to turn in their District issued Apple power adapter and Lightning/USB cable. However, as stated in the iPad Loan Agreement students will be responsible for turning in their District issued Apple power adapter and Apple Lightning/USB cable before the end of our current iPad lease deployment or before withdrawing from the District. If you choose to turn in the issued power adapter and Lightning/USB cable for summer storage, it will be collected at the same time as the iPad and placed in a storage bag according to the student’s school site.
