2021 Senior Spotlight: Hailey Christianson

Senior Spotlight: Hailey Christianson

In honor of the Farmington High School 2021 graduating class, over the next several weeks we will be highlighting a few of our outstanding seniors. These students have been nominated by Farmington Area Public Schools staff members for exhibiting hard work and pursuing their spark with passion during their time at FHS. Today’s Senior Spotlight is: Hailey Christianson!

Hailey was nominated for her kindness and selfless attitude. She is a member of the National Honor Society and carries a 4.16 GPA. She has been involved with LINK Crew, the Girls’ Golf Team, and has been a member of the Farmington Dance Team since 8th grade. This year Hailey has been volunteering in Michelle Kadrlik’s kindergarten classroom. Ms. Kadrlik shared, “I enjoy watching her interact with the young, impressionable kids telling them they can be whatever they choose. She is an excellent role model and I love having her in my class. I believe her spark is just being around others and helping them succeed. She is one of a kind.”

More about Hailey:

Favorite Classes & Teachers

“My favorite class this past year has been service learning. I get to go to Mrs. Kadrlik’s kindergarten class at Akin Road Elementary a few times a week in this class. I love being able to have the opportunity to get to know these kids and watch them grow and learn. It’s so cool to be able to be a part of their school day and help them in any way. I’ve also loved getting to work with Mrs. Kadrlik and some other teachers.”

Future Plans

“After graduation, I will attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to major in biomedical engineering. I have always been a huge Gopher fan so the U of M was easily my first choice. I’m excited to use my academic strengths in my career field, and to be a part of the growing female presence in the engineering field.”

Advice for Future Seniors

“My advice for future seniors is to try not to get overwhelmed by what to do after you graduate. Whether you go to trade school or a four year university or something else, it’s important to do what is best for you. There are so many options and opportunities for you after high school. Do what you feel is right to you and you will be successful.”
