Senior Spotlight: Mara Lillis

In honor of the Farmington High School 2021 graduating class, over the next several weeks we will be highlighting a few of our outstanding seniors. These students have been nominated by Farmington Area Public Schools staff members for exhibiting hard work and pursuing their spark with passion during their time at FHS. Today’s Senior Spotlight is: Mara Lillis!

Mara was nominated for her strong work ethic and growth mindset - that is a willingness to learn and grow. According to her Varsity Cheer Coach, “Mara is a great role model for younger athletes. She is extremely coachable and hardworking. Her passion for her sport and studies is admirable.” Mara has been involved in competitive cheerleading for nine years and on the varsity team for the past five years.

Beyond cheerleading, Mara has earned a place in the National Honor Society and plays in the Farmington High School Wind Ensemble. Outside school she holds a part-time job at the local Dairy Queen as a shift leader. According to Mara, balancing academics, athletics, and work can be challenging at times but she’s happy to do it. “I enjoy keeping a busy schedule, so I enjoyed the challenge,” she said.
