Nate Larson has been named the next head coach of the Farmington High School girls’ tennis team.


Larson joins FHS with a wide variety of experience in tennis as a player and a coach. Larson was a 4x All-Conference and 3x All-Region collegiate tennis player at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota. He was also a 2x national tournament qualifier. 


Following his collegiate career, Larson served as a tennis instructor at the Village East Resort in Okoboji, Iowa. From 2001-2014, Larson was the Tennis Teaching Professional at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. In 2014, Larson joined the Williston Fitness Center in Minnetonka, MN serving in the same role.


During his coaching career, Larson served as an assistant coach at the University of Sioux Falls, SD and Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD, as well as the head coach at Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD. He has coached a number of individual and team state champions throughout his career. During the 2017-2018 school year, Nate was an assistant coach at Farmington High School.


“Coach Larson brings some great tennis and coaching experience to our team at FHS. I’m excited for him to grow our tennis program in the Farmington community”, said Athletic Director Keith Badger.


Nate currently serves as the Lakeville campus pastor for Eagle Brook Church.


The 2021 girls’ tennis season begins on Aug 16, 2021. The girls open up their season on Monday, August 23 at Mound Westonka High School competing in a doubles tournament with Mound Westonka and New Ulm High Schools.
