Farmington Patriotic Day is Thursday November 10th. On this day volunteers will be serving an estimated 1,500 meals to area veterans, service members, their families, and those that support them from 5-7 PM in the Farmington High School Commons.
A formal program honoring their service and sacrifice will follow the dinner beginning at 7 PM in the Recital Hall. All are welcome to come and share a meal and attend this event.
Our local Veteran’s Steak Fry group will be grilling up over 1,000 Von Hanson Steaks and there will be Chicken Nuggets for the younger, or more picky eaters. There is no cost as the theme is “Serving Those That Serve.”
This community event features the FHS Wind Ensemble, the FHS Con Brio Choir, and the Voice of Democracy Essay Winner. This year's featured keynote speaker is Brigadier General Timothy A. Sejba of the US Space Force.
Farmington is the first Yellow Ribbon community in the state of Minnesota and we take pride in celebrating our patriotism and honoring those that have sacrificed so much to give us our rights and freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis.
The Mission of Farmington’s Patriotic Day:
To Promote Patriotism with information and recognition of our veterans and to promote involvement through student service and constructing connections with the greater Farmington community. We strive to provide an opportunity to infuse patriotic pride and love of our country and community through information and involvement from students, their families, and our veterans and service members.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Jon Holmes, the organizer of this event. His contact information can be found on our staff directory.
