 A Message from Superintendent Berg

Greetings ISD 192 Families,

As you may be aware, Governor Walz addressed the state yesterday afternoon and shared an important update to the Minnesota Safe Learning Plan. After consultation with our Regional Support team and in accordance with the 2020-21 Minnesota Safe Learning Plan and Executive Order 20-84 we will continue our distance learning model for the first two weeks of January.

Based on the latest announcement by Governor Walz and initial requirements from the Minnesota Department of Education, the soonest we will be able to bring full grade levels of learners back into buildings is Tuesday, January 19, 2021. In the coming weeks we will be working to gain a full understanding of the revised guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Health and will be planning for what in-person learning will look like in District 192 as we move forward. You can expect more information no later than January 8, 2021.

We know that changing guidance and shifting learning models is not easy on anyone. We continue to work to minimize the impact these changes have on learners and families. Thank you for your continued grace and flexibility as we work to serve the needs of our community through these trying times.

Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Jason Berg

Superintendent of Schools
