Special Education Advisory Council

The Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is a group that provides input on special education issues to its local school district. The purpose of the SEAC is to advise and advocate, not to determine policy. Minnesota law requires each school district in the state to have a SEAC, although it does not specify how the groups should be organized or what duties they should perform. As a result, each SEAC may have a unique mission and structure.

The mission of the Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is to:
1. Advise District #192 Special Education Department;
2. Advocate for high quality special education programs;
3. Facilitate communication among family, school, community and the school board.
