FHS Artists Excel in Competition

Farmington High School students submitted 16 entries to the Minnesota State High School League 1AA Art Competition in many categories including Computer Based Artwork, Ceramics, Drawing, Sculpture, and 2D Mixed Media Collage. Altogether they received 8 Excellent Ratings, 8 Superior Ratings, and 2 Best in Category. Kia Jackson won Best in Category for Computer Based Artwork and Carly Schactele won Best in Category for Ceramics. Jackson and Schactele will advance to the State Competition on May 13th at the Perpich Center for the Arts in Golden Valley.
“These kids do an amazing job with their artwork and their thought process while creating their pieces,” Josh Hall, one of the art teachers at Farmington High School, shared in an email about the event.
